Shree Siddhi Charitable Trust was created for the purpose of reducing / eradicating difficulties of the underprivileged and fulfilling their educational, medical and cultural needs. Work began several years ago after Drs Gitanjali and Amol Gitte began their medical practice but a formal trust was formed in 2014 and the objectives were clearly defined with a view to reach more of more underprivileged. The major thrust areas of the trust include Health, Education, Women’s Welfare, Society, development of the Adivasi community along with agriculture and rural development. Currently, the trust works on Women and Child Health, Cancer Care, HIV, Deaddiction and Education. Most of the work is carried out at Siddhivinayak Hospital & ICU which was founded by Drs Gitte. A few Government aided programmes are conducted at the hospital. The trust currently focuses on high risk obstetric cases like Eclampsia, heart disease, etc since most hospitals are reluctant to admit such cases belonging to the lower strata of society. With the help of a dedicated team of doctors and surgeons, the trust has been able to provide quality health care for patients suffering from high risk pregnancy, cancer and HIV. As part of its objective the trust hopes to set up a larger hospital in Thane district with a capacity of at least 200 beds along with a teaching side (medical college) to combat the shortage of well trained doctors. More and more beds can be allocated for the rural poor, the underprivileged and the adivasi community who presently run from one Government hospital to another in search of treatment.
